Another great step to becoming a complete side with a performance simply too good for Topsham.

Despite losing the leading figure of Ollie Dawe last week the side galvanised and re-grouped to put in the most complete performance to date this season. Scoring 4 tries in each half set up by powerful forward play the pace and discipline simply out-classed a previously competitive opponent. The scoring began with a series of battering runs from the pack and when the ball was spun out full back Rabbie Hansford hit the line with searing pace to draw the last defender and off-load to support runner Ollie HH to score. This was quickly followed by some clever inter play between forwards and backs to set up an attacking position deep in the Topsham 22, from a ruck the ball was fed swiftly between half backs Chrissy Wright and Will Flinn who executed a great offload to a charging Max Cooke who had defenders running for cover as he crashed over. The team maintained focus and discipline as the tries mounted and the backs started to run riot with Liam O Shaunessy and Bill Cuthbert attacking every opportunity - this freedom to attack came from a hard hitting front 5, particularly by Ollie Turner with Sean Harrison, Jake Huntley and Max Cooke putting in some big hits. This bruising display was backed up by a master class of back row play by Liam Squire, Will Irving, who was outstanding throughout, and captain Connor O Shaunessy whose game management and leadership is lighting the way. The starting side were well supported by replacements George Stafford and Jack Sharland who ensured that Topsham remained scoreless and have now earned the right to join the starters next time out. The icing on the cake came with the last play of the game when a counter attack from deep inside our half was finished with a visionary cross field kick which electric winger Sam 'Bam Bam' Warren finished in style! A special note of praise to Ben Ramft who demonstrated the spirit of the team when pulling on the opponents shirt due to short numbers.
