The Exmouth RFC under 11’s were at home on Sunday playing against a strong Okehampton side. The entertaining first half saw both teams playing well and looking pretty equal in their tackling and keeping hold of the ball. As the first half wore on, Exmouth started to get on top of the game and their hard work paid off when they scored the first try. They were forcing themselves up the pitch well and from a ruck, Jed Reid picked up the ball and drove over the line. More good work came from Exmouth later in the half where again Okehampton were defending desperately but could not keep out Charlie Mears for Exmouth’s second try. Nick Eveleigh had put away both conversions but Okehampton did manage to reply shortly afterwards just before the half time whistle. The second half was not as entertaining for the home side as they couldn’t match the commitment that they had showed earlier in the match. It was Okehampton’s half and they went on to score 4 more trys and put away each conversion to win 14 - 35.
