Cullumpton (U12) 7 - 80 Exmouth (U12)

A bit of light training preceded what was to become an absolute whitewash against a Cully side who managed a win against the mighty Cockles just last season.
Allowing for this being the first game of the season and also considering new players on both sides it wads deemed the game be played over four fifteen minute quarters.
An explosive start from Exmouth totally shocked Cully who could only stand and watch as quick ball, good support play and excellent running lines saw Exmouth run in four unanswered tries, all converted.
Wholesale changes for the second quarter and a solo breakaway effort from Cully deep in their own half resulted in their only points of the day. Exmouth caught napping soon upped their game but where unable to penetrate deep enough to put points on the board.
The third quarter saw Exmouth resume dominance and again the speed of the ball from the breakdown was too much for Cully to handle. Ollie Toomey at scrum half really stamped his authority on the game and supported by quick backs the points just kept rolling in.
The final quarter was again all Exmouth’s. It really was a magnificent team effort with everyone playing heads up rugby. A special mention to Max McConaghy picking up “Man of the Match” for his efforts up front and Will Tidball who amassed a personal tally of 25 points.
