The Exmouth under 12’s faced yet another physically bigger team on Sunday as they entertained Honiton. The pre-game talk seemed to work wonders though as the lads started the game extremely well. As a team, they were fully committed to everything they did and it was pleasing to see them keep the ball for longer periods than we have seen recently. Honiton were constantly being pushed back by the hard working Exmouth team and by half time, Exmouth were only a try behind Honiton, Exmouth’s try was scored by Aaron Brigham-Jones after another scrum was won easily by Exmouth. In the second half, the lads couldn’t keep the good play up and Honiton run away with several trys down the wings. A little better thinking from the Exmouth lads could have seen them score a few more trys. Man of the match this week went to Charlie Mears for being the most committed player on the pitch for the whole game and great thinking seen in the line outs.
