colts v Sidmouth

Exmouth travelled to Sidford to take on 2nd place Sidmouth on Saturday. The game started off with both sides very evenly matched. Sidmouth opened the scoring in 25 th minute when there flyhalf slotted over a well taken penalty after Exmouths backs were caught off side. Exmouth had chances to score in the first half, but for wayward passes and also a few players having white line fever blew these chances. Just before half time Sidmouths right wing broke down his wing to score an unconverted try out wide .Half time score 8-0. 10 minutes into the 2nd half Sidmouth sliced a defensive kick infield which Olly Howard took well, he passed to Will Siddle who then passed to Brad Nielson on the halfway line. Brad out stripped the covering defence to score in the corner. Danny Sansom just missed the conversation.The score stayed at 8-5 until the last 10 minutes when Sidmouth started to take control in the forwards and won enough good ball for their backs to run in 3 unconverted tries in.
Overall it was a fair result, however a few missed tackles costed Exmouth the game. Man of the match went to Tyler 'Blanco' Wright
