Exmouth's Conway Scores Hat-trick after being Selected to attend a Scotland U16 training camp
Exmouth travelled to Stonehouse with a depleted squad due to injuries and Matt Harris away at a Devon Training camp. Ollie Dawe who was given man of the match played up an age group to help the Cockles field a bare 15 players with no replacements. Dawe had an outstanding game combining well at 8 with scrum-half Conway. After early pressure Skipper Conway took a quick penalty side stepped two players to score 5-0. With Exmouth's Jos Urmston winning a lot of line-out ball and fellow second-row Niall Lawson having a great game all-round the park. With Exmouth again pressuring Stonehouse, Conway scored his second try, again from a quick penalty catching out the defence score 10-0. Flankers Bradford-Jones and Brandon Perry putting in a great shift in the first-half both putting pressure on the Stonehouse players which lead to Knock-ons and forward passes. Score at half-time 10-0 to Exmouth.
The second-half started with good interchanges from the Exmouth forwards and backs, with Jake Gillham and Matt Wells in the backs pushing up quick which resulted in the Stonehouse back-line having no time on the ball. Exmouth had a scrum inside the Stonehouse 5 metre line, with a solid scrum, Conway was able to pick up draw players and pass to Mark Godfrey who went over in the corner to score. Score 15-0. The forwards played well and laid down good foundations for the backs with Fly-half Flinn commanding his Back-line. With 10 minutes left Conway picked up from the back feet of Dawe to drive over for his 3rd try. Score 20-0. With only 5 minutes left and with the Exmouth side flagging, the Stonehouse side against the run of play, scored a consultation try and converted leaving the final score 20-7 to Exmouth.
