Exmouth demolished Lydney 55-10 in todays National Three encounter scoring nine tries to two in fantastic conditions at the Imperial ground.
A few bold selections and the improved availability from last weeks game gave the Cockles a big boost, with all 18 members of the squad doing the jersey and the club proud. Chris Bentley showed how instrumental he is to the team with a huge performance and Ruairi Cushion pulled the strings extremely well from scrum half, often helped by a dominant forward pack which enabled the team to play on the front foot.
The star of the show was new signing Dan Powell, who started the game at full back and ended it at fly half with two tries, and five conversions in a man of the match performance. Ali Hill starting in the pivotal position at fly half, and Ollie Rice , returning to the squad following injury were influential in their play and made a positive impact in the game.
A brace for Richard Bright, Ben Hawley, and Powell, plus singles for Captain Dave Bargent, Impressive centre Henry Goldson and a penalty try from a 5m scrum completed the scoring.
Homegrown talent Connor O'Shaughnessy made his Natioonal league debut off the bench.
