Exmouth scored 10 tries in a hastily arranged pre season game following the Wednesday Morning cancellation from Teignmouth for Fridays scheduled game. Honiton battled bravely throughout and should be applauded for their tenacity and work rate throughout.
Exmouth paraded new signing Matt Garner, who scored a try and slotted 4 of the 7 conversions, as well as giving a high number of debuts to a range of youngsters including 17 year old man of the match and try scorer James Mattin, as well as another hot prospect and try scorer, George Mears (also 17).
Ali Hill slotted the final 3 conversions, playing fly half, and other try scores were debutants Connor O'Shaughnessy and James Bartholomew. Mark Wathes, Richard Bright, James Harris, Dave Bargent and Jack Rouse scored the remaining tries as Exmouth prepare for upcoming 2nd xv games against Topsham 1st xv (Tuesday), New Cross 1st xv (Saturday) before the much anticipated 1st xv clash with the Exeter Chiefs Academy on Tuesday 25th August, 6.45pm kick off.
