WOW. A massive thank you to all who supported our at our 150 YEARS celebration. We raised the handsome sum of £2,500 for WOODEN SPOON, the children's charity of rugby. David Fowler, representing Wooden Spoon, spoke of the fundraising work, with support they give to local causes. All the money raised in Devon goes to local beneficiaries, recently including Vranch House & Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter and Mill Water School in East Budleigh.
David commented, 'On behalf of the Devon Wooden Spoon Charity, the children’s charity of rugby, I would like to start by congratulating Exmouth RFC on reaching its 150th anniversary, and for organising and running a magnificent dinner to celebrate the occasion at Ocean in Exmouth on Friday 9th February.
We are particularly grateful to the Club for nominating the Wooden Spoon Charity as the beneficiary of the raffle on the night, and we are absolutely delighted to hear that £2,500 was raised. We would like to thank your generous guests and sponsors for their support, and to reiterate that all the money donated will go to support children’s charities here in Devon.
Once again, our thanks to you and the Club for your generosity, and I look forward to developing the relationship between the Wooden Spoon Charity and Exmouth RFC over the coming years.'
