Mini's Academy in Partnership with Exmouth RFC

Mini's Academy will be sponsoring this weekends Cockles Double Header which sees Hornets (1.15pm kick off) and Welsh Premiership Outfit Bargoed (2.45pm kick off) visit the Imperial Ground.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Mini's Academy are also sponsoring the junior section of the club as they continue to grow in the local community on the back of a successful legacy project from RWC Exeter. This weekend will also see Mini's Academy entertain and work with some key junior age groups as part of the Exmouth Rugby Club Junior Registration Day being held on the same day.

Exmouth RFC Head coach Jon Hill comments:

"As a club, we are always looking to forge new, and develop existing, partnerships that we have with the local community. We have been proactive in looking at bespoke agreements with a number of organisations and are delighted to find some exciting ways in which we can work with Tracey and her team looking ahead to the new season.

"Mini's academy are very prominent in Exeter and the surrounding areas and are real evidence of the legacy of RWC Exeter 2015. We are pleased that they have come onboard with us and feel that we can work together and be of great benefit to each other.

The team behind Mini’s Academy; a legacy of RWC2015, have been celebrating their first award, dedicating it to the city of Exeter. “Achieving an award for ‘Greatest Social Impact’ is testament to all we’re striving for", explained co-founder & former Exeter Chief; Nic Sestaret. “The ethos behind Minis Academy has always been to promote the social and health benefits of team sport by introducing primary school children to the character-building values of passion, respect, discipline and solidarity & by developing their core skills; agility, balance & co-ordination, through the game of rugby

"Working alongside Exmouth RFC falls in line with our plans to support links between schools & clubs & we’re looking forward to a great season with them”.

The Academy, which launched at Ide Primary School, in Exeter, earlier this year, runs after school clubs, holiday camps and birthday parties for 4 - 7 year olds, across Devon & have recently launched in Taunton.

Co-founder Tracey Alison, has said that their aim has always been to make a positive difference to young lives and to make rugby and an active lifestyle accessible to all.

On the games this weekend, Exmouth RFC Head Coach Jon Hill continued:

"This Saturday gives us an opportunity for the vast majority of the squad to gain 80 minutes game time against quality opposition as our preparations take another step forward. We envisage 38 players getting game time across both games and this will then allow us to narrow down some squad selections with the view of selecting a squad of approximately 25 for our clash with an Exeter Chiefs XV next week."
