COCKLES U15 MAKE SEMI FINAL

COCKLES U15 MAKE SEMI FINAL

ERFC Webmaster28 Apr - 18:01

Devon RFU U15 Festival | Sunday 27th April

EXMOUTH U15 boys did themselves and the Mighty Cockles proud.

Thanks to the support of Crediton we were able to take our entire squad, every player made a real contribution to the success of our team in the very competitive group games.

First pool game was Launceston, the lads shook off the early start and ran out 25-0 winners. Only a 20 min turn around saw the next fixture arrive swiftly but this didn’t deter a growing in confidence squad and just as strong performance with a 25-5 victory.

Into an unknown match against Plymouth Argaum for match 3 and perhaps the most convincing team performance of the day with 50 unanswered points achieved in just 14 minutes.

Last game against the other strong team in the pool, Exeter Sarries. The lads were nothing but clinical and ran out deserved winners, we have a great relationship with Sarries and the 25-5 was met with praise from all their coaches.

These results meant that Exmouth qualified as 2nd highest point scored across all of the 20 Devon teams, only behind Exeter Athletic.

So on to the Cup, the highest accolade of the competitions and what better team to face than the best Devon has to offer, Exeter Athletic.

Exmouth made a blistering start in the semi-final and up until the end of the first half Exmouth had the deserved lead. As the game went on Exeter showed their confidence and belief and with a strong team performance and a couple of bounces of the egg, ran out worthy winners.

A VERY proud day for all coaches, parents and team mates who had travelled to support the squad.

Well done to each and every one of the lads who all contributed to achieving joint 3rd for the best team in Devon 10 a-side title.

Well done to Exeter who ran out comfortable winners against Bideford in the final.

What a way for us to complete a very successful season.

A massive thank you must go to all the volunteers and event organisers at Crediton RFC, the day ran like clockwork from start to finish

Lawrence.
