THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED FOR US

Hi All

Just to let you know, we have been advised by EDDC that our plan for a drainage system was unsuccessful, in the recent town vote.

Sadly we did not get enough votes to get the decision our way. We can tell you that out of 5,000 invitation to vote letters, outlining 7 proposals, a total of 1,082 (21.6%) responded. With invalid entries, this was reduced to 1,036 votes cast (20.7%).

The main project chosen was based at Exmouth Community College, resurfacing a large sand Astro pitch. With town council projects close behind.

HUGE CHEERS if you voted for our plan. Thank you for your support.

The Cockles submitted a proposal for a new drainage project to our second pitch and training area next to Langerwehe Way and Royal Avenue.

If you, your family, friends or anyone you know are keen to keep a usable green space at the heart of the town and received one of 5,000 letters sent randomly to Exmouth households by Exmouth Town Council, then WE NEED YOUR VOTE.

Our club and community proposal is to secure a long-term usable area that is available all year round. Used by hundreds of rugby players; boys and girls, from under 5 (we had 35 new youngsters a few weeks ago), through to senior age, we are continually affected by poor weather, especially during the winter, flooding causes many cancellations.

Local schools, colleges, community groups and charitable organisations currently use our grounds and we want to ensure this is possible for future generations. Our drainage system project would lay a foundation that would open our facilities to all, no matter what the weather.

Please help us securing this vital funding for a project for all.

5,000 Exmouth residents received a letter via Exmouth Town Council outlining the schemes and invitation to vote.

We really do appreciate your support and thank you for your Vote.
