All Whites second string overwhelmed by strong Cockles.

Several stand-out performances saw The Cockles youngsters run in 7 tries to overwhelm the home side. The squad assembled with current Colts, Jack Greenaway and Owain Brinkworth added to the senior line-up. Both featured well in this Merit Table fixture. Prop Matt Fowler scored the first try converted by Fly Half Tom Steer who would kick 3 more conversions throughout the afternoon. Erin Inglis touched down for the Cockles second try, followed by Fin Marks and Connor Smithers. The All Whites reserves did score 3 tries of their own in the first-half. Exmouth went in to the break 22-17 up.

This was a game that Exmouth wanted to blitz and get their assault on the top of league back on track. Although Newton Abbot did score once more, it was clear the Cockles were on top in most phases of the game. The forward pack dominated and pace in the backs created the scoring platform. Scrum Half Sam Fulthorpe bagged 2 tries with a final score from Harvey Ridgeway who outpaced the defence, to close the game out with a last try. The final score 43-22. In a great team performance it was Hooker James Goss, recent 1st team debutant, who put in a Man of the Match performance. He was an absolute nuisance and was destructive though-out the game.

The result put The Cockles in to 2nd spot (link below), just one point behind leaders Okehampton. This will be a great run in to the end of the season, with a number of players seeking a place in the first team squad. Some great competition for places.
