Forward firepower and variety too much for a competitive Saracens.

From the kick off the Exmouth pack put into practise a game plan designed to over power the opposition. With great control the pack, led by the front five, kept the ball moving forward combining pick and go's with rolling mauls. The aim was to probe the blind side and fringes to get on the front foot then the dynamic running of Rabbie Hansford at 10 created further confusion in the defence that spent the game going backwards. That said, credit should go the the Saracens half backs who faced a wall of marauding forwards at close quarters - neither gave up and tried heroically to stem the flow of pressure that just kept coming.

Once again the whole squad contributed with all the replacements adding to the display when they got the chance to join the fray. As was the game plan the forwards dominated the scoring with Charlie Gibbings and Ollie Dawe bagging a brace a piece with Will Irving, Sean Harrison and Rabbie Hansford driving over the rest. The scores all came from a dynamic mix of off-loads, driving mauls and pick and go's created by Max Cooke, Elliott Martineau, Jake Huntley and skipper Connor O'Shaughnessy.

The backs played their part too relieving the forwards with some strong running but most importantly a water tight defence that was only breeched once by a great individual break by the Saracens scrum half. The highlight was the increasing effect Ben Knight is having with elusive running and a fearless approach to 50-50 balls.

A final word goes to the scrum halves, Will Flinn and Chrissy Wright who both kept the forwards motivated and under control as well as taking the ball forward whenever the opportunity arose. All round this was the most complete performance by this team all season and they justly took load applause from an appreciative crowd who enjoyed a great display of rugby.
