The Nomads kept up their unbeaten run in the Devon 2 Merit Table on Saturday with a convincing win over Totnes II’s winning 62 – 0.
The game started well for the Nomads with the first try coming on the 7 minute mark, a good drive from the forwards with Russ Coombes taking the ball into the Totnes 22, the ball was recycled quickly and passed out to veteran winger Richard Haynes to power over for a well taken try. The ever reliable Lloyd Murrin adding the extras.
The Nomads forwards started to dominate the lineout, securing their own ball and stealing plenty of the oppositions, using the catch and drive to good effect and providing a platform for the experienced half back pairing of Alan Pyne and Andrew Binmore to boss the game.
The next try came after Luke Kent crashed the ball up, the ball was recycled with Tom Caygill taking a great line to break the Totness defence and make the score 12 – 0 after 22 minutes.
Further tries where added by Alan Pyne, kev Rodwell (2), Leigh Ellis, Brad Stone and Lloyd Murrin.
Man of the match went to Tom Caygill for his excellent work in the lineout.
The Nomads have now won their first four merit table fixtures and are at Home to Cullompton III’s this weekend.
