Exmouth storm back to winning ways

Exmouth responded to the previous weeks disappointing away loss with a comprehensive bonus point win against Old Patesians at the Imperial Ground

The Exmouth Town mayor and past Rugby Football Union (RFU) president watched on as the Cockles made an explosive start, scoring from the kick-off!

Ollie Pyne was the beneficiary of a sloppy start from the visitors; the back rower being quick to seize the opportunity and run behind the posts to score and George Meadows slotted the conversion to put the Cockles 7-0 up with barely a minute on the clock!

With the ground bathed in spring sunshine and the playing surface much firmer under foot than of late, the home side seemed to enjoy the conditions.

A wayward clearance kick was taken on the Exmouth 10 metre line by Henry Goldson, slipping the first chaser, he took play into the visitors 22. With full back Ollie Rice in support, he drew the last defender to put Rice over in the clubhouse corner and Meadows once more slotted the extras.
