Exmouth have title hopes dealt a blow in defeat at Bournemouth
Exmouth suffered what might well prove to be a National Three (SW) title-ending defeat when beaten 10-0 at Bournemouth on the first Saturday of 2015
Despite the nil score by the Cockles they were in the contest for long periods and had opportunities to end the Hampshire club’s unbeaten run at home this season.
However, as good as some of the approach play was, the finish was not to the same standard and there were a succession of ‘wrong decisions’ made, particularly when play was in the Bournemouth final third and a number of good situations were wasted with the ball going to ground at the wrong time!
Cockles stand-off George Meadows kicked well for positions whilst box kickers Garry Hooper and Ali Ryan made big contributions.
Despite going down to 14 men due to a sin-binning, the home side still proved too touch a nut to crack for the Cockles.
