Battling Exmouth beaten at Clifton
From The Exmouth Journal: The Cockles, despite a battling performance, ended second best as they succumbed to a 22nd defeat of the National 2 season.
Once again they could not be faulted for their effort and they deserve immense credit for keeping the game open.
Clifton dominated the opening exchanges and ran in two tries in the first 20 minutes.
The Cockles registered their first points with a Rob Avery-Wright penalty.
With scrum-half Gary Hooper at the centre of everything positive the Cockles were trying to do they began to take charge, but the home side increased their lead just before the break.
