Former Cockle Dan Powell returns on loan from Plymouth Albion and comes straight into the starting line up for tomorrows trip to league Leaders Dings.

Powell had a loan stint with us last year, having moved to Albion in the summer of 2016, following a promotion winning campaign with the Cockles the previous year. Dan is being sponsored by Refrigerated Vehicle Rental, and it is with many thanks to Steve Harris for his continued sponsorship of Exmouth RFC.

His arrival is timely with the news that the Cockles injury list hasn't got any better, and in fact has got worse since last week! Owen Nesbitt, Tom Whelan, Harvey Ridgeway, Alex Goldman, Mark Wathes, Matt Dayment and Richard Bright all sit out tomorrows encounter with the league leaders ... a possible stating backs line up in itself, and all of whom have started a number of league games this season!!! Jordan Shakespeare, another first xv starter in the back line this season is also out with concussion following last weeks 2nd xv game against Clifton! Richard Cadywould, another back with considerable 1st xv experience, sits out tomorrow's game with work commitments. That's nine backs, all with 1st xv experience this season out, to add to long term injury victim, Ali Hill who continues his rehabilitation.

Powell is in fact the only change to last weeks backline, that looked so lively, and comes in for Bright.

Upfront , we are boosted by the return of influential skipper Jack Fahy and former Captain Dave Bargent, who replace the unavailable Tom Barnard and Ben Hawley.

The 2nd xv also travel to play Dings this weekend in a South West Pilot League game. Back Three player Nick Headley comes into the squad, having been unavailable last week, as does James Clark , away at University in Gloucester, but only a short drive away to represent his hometown club in an S.O.S rally call!

Squad from:
Lendon, Harrison, Turner (O), White, Sharp, Inglis, Harris (capt), Morshead, Cooke, Murrin, Mingo, Clark, AN Other, Headley, Hurrell, Smith (N), Turner (H), Smith (A).

3rd xv v Okehampton (home), 2.30pm kick off

Tinners leads his troops into battle on a rare home friendly against last seasons Devon Merit Table Winners, Okehampton. A good game for the spectators in a home game, for those not travelling up the M5.

Colts v Exeter Saracens (away) KO 2.30pm

JJ has picked an experiemental looking outfit for tomorrows game with our near neighbours, as the Colts look to continue with their good form.

Scrum Half Sam Fulthorpe, Fly Half Harry Ottaway, back rower Ethan Langson Justice , and hooker Matt Seager are all on Devon Under 18's duty on Sunday so sit out tomorrows friendly. Tom Cooke, a centre or half back starts for the 2nd xv tomorrow.

A big weekend ahead
