Vidler made his 1st xv debut off the bench in the recent victory over Newton Abbot , and scored two tries in midweek in the 2nd xv victory over Topsham 1st xv. Vidler's try scoring exploits are sure to push him into 1st xv contention in the coming weeks and is a welcome addition to the squad.

Vidler has been playing full back in the same side as Jack Downie out in Australia , and it was upon Jack's recommendation that James decided to travel with his partner and to come and play in East Devon. Winger Jack Downie, and prop Andy Lendon have also now returned 'home' following 18 months travelling Australia to add further strength in depth to the Cockles squad.
