Former Exeter Chiefs back Tom Bedford signs for the Cockles

Exmouth have signed Former Exeter Chiefs, Newcastle, Bedford, Cornish Pirates and Plymouth Albion Centre/Wing Tom Bedford for their forthcoming National Two campaign.

Bedford, who made his debut for Exeter, aged just 17, has been a full time professional rugby player for a number of years, and for the last 12 months, has combined his job at Winkworth Estate Agents in Exeter with a contract at Plymouth Albion.

Bedford joins an exodus of players leaving Albion following major changes behind the scenes and is excited to be joining the ambitious Cockles. Bedford comments:

"I am delighted to be joining Exmouth and have always heard very good things about the club and it's people. Having met Jon a number of times, I have been impressed with the way the club operates and how professional the club appears to be behind the scenes. Exmouth is the perfect fit for me, as I live and work locally and I am able to continue to play National League rugby on my doorstep, so I am really excited about the challenge ahead."

Tom is kindly being sponsored by Nunn Rickard Solicitors who continue their partnership with the Cockles. Managing Partner Stephen Nunn comments:

"We are delighted to be able to support Exmouth RFC again this coming season and when Jon mentioned about the possibility of Tom signing, we were delighted to offer our support to the player who I remember from when he used to play for Exeter. We are proud to be associated with Exmouth and were so pleased with their success last season."

Exmouth RFC Head Coach Jon Hill comments:

"We are delighted to be able to bring a player with the ability and experience of Tom to the club and hope he can make a big impact at Exmouth RFC. We are indebted to the support of Nunn Rickard Solicitors who have become Tom's player sponsor, and have made this move possible."
