We hit the road this weekend !!

Saturday 24th March sees the 1st and 2nd xv hit the M5 in search of league points.

The 1st xv take on Cleve with a 2.30pm kick off with an opportunity to cement a mid table position at stake. With the league very tight this season the difference between a 5th and a 12 th place finish is minimal. It is all to play for in these remaining 5 league games.

The Cockles are boosted by the return of influential back rower James Harris, experienced outside back Jack Downie, and key tight head Tom Barnard.

Matt Ryan moves to his favoured scrum half position with Lloyd Watkins absent this weekend.

The 2nd xv are also heading up the M5 to Drybrook for an important South West Pilot League game.

The 2nd xv are supplemented by a number of under 18’s this weekend in a youthful looking squad, supplemented by the ‘Grandfather’ John Justice , who locates the ‘deep heat’ to roll back the years for his annual 2nd xv run out. Player Coach Ali Hill will look to emulate Andy Goode , pulling the strings in the Midfield.

Tinners and his band of Nomads entertain Bideford 2nd xv likely to be played at Bicton with a 2.30pm kick off. With a lot of youth rugby planned for Sunday , Roger has banished the Nomads to Bicton in the hope of protecting ‘his land’.

On a final note , congratulations to Morgan White, Dan Armstrong, Sam Fulthorpe and Max Keen on their Devon Under 20’s selection this Sunday. A great achievement for which we are all very proud ... Go well gents.

Regards

Jon
