Former Harlequins , Bristol , Leeds and Exeter Chiefs Prop Altan Ozdemir becomes Exmouth RFC's Scrum coach for the 16/17 season.

Exmouth have appointed the experienced Altan Ozdemir as their scrum coach for their forthcoming National two season.

'Oz' who played for Bristol, Harlequins, Bedford, Leeds, Exeter Chiefs and Plymouth Albion before becoming Plymouth Albion's scrum coach joins up with the Cockles having had a bit of time out of the game and is raring to go in an effort to establish Exmouth as a National Two rugby club.

Exmouth's Forwards Coach Stuart Lowe comments:

"We are absolutely delighted to welcome Oz to the Imperial Ground and feel that this is the perfect fit for all involved. Oz lives in Exmouth, just a stones throw from the club, and will have a specific remit as our scrum coach, which will be a vital role this season.

"Oz will pick up and build on some of the fine work that Alex Brown did last year. With Alex moving to France, we had a hole to fill, and we are fortunate to have someone with Oz's experience living in our town and available."

Ozdemir Comments:

"This is perfect for me and I am highly motivated to work in a new challenge with an ambitious club. Having lived in Exmouth for a number of years, I have followed Exmouth's progress with interest and have seen a number of games. I love the passion that the coaches bring to the club and the community feel about the place. It really is a club who seem to do things the right way.

"This has all come about in a short space of time and was on the back of a chance meeting with Hilly in the gym only three weeks ago. I have been impressed with how quickly things have moved forward and the honesty and integrity of the people involved. I feel like I can make an impact and look forward to challenging the likes of George Savage and Issac Dalton and ensuring that they are always working optimally in a challenging environment. I can't wait to get started in pre season."
