Five Current Colts played for Devon Under 18's on Saturday , and Seven players make the Under 20's training squad .. The future is bright

No fewer than five current colts started for Devon Under 18's on Saturday in their final County game of the season against Oxfordshire at Hornets RFC.

Cockles' Back rower Ethan Langson-Justice captained the side, with fly half Harry Ottaway as Vice Captain. Hooker Matt Seager, Scrum Half Sam Fulthorpe and winger Joel Ranft made up the quintet of Cockles , which goes some way to showing just how bright the future is for Exmouth RFC.

Unfortunately , Devon lost 20-15 but there is certainly hope that some of the County lads will progress through to the South West on the back of some impressive performances.

Well done guys, we are super proud of you. All five have played for the 2nd xv on occasions this season, and have not looked out of place in senior rugby. Ottaway, in particular has impressed, and gained the man of the match award in a recent A xv game against a Royal Navy Xv.

Indeed, Fulthorpe, Ottaway and Langson-Justice have also been added to the Devon Under 20's wider squad and join a number of other Cockles in the 20's set up that met last Monday at Ivybridge. Dan Armstrong and Ned Mills have both experienced plenty of 1st xv action this season and will be looking to the 20's set up to further their representative honours. Joe Harris, who has captained the 2nd xv on occasion is another who is part of the squad along with hooker James Goss. So from the 'Famous Five' (under 18's), we may now see a separate breakaway group of the Under 20's 'Secret Seven' !!
