Buzz for next season builds as 2013/14 closes out in style

Exmouth RFC Director of Rugby Chris Wright is delighted to announce that influential back row forward and current Captain of Exmouth RFC Ross Morshead has decided to commit to another season with the Cockles.

Wright said "Ross had decided to take on a player coach role with Cornwall and Devon outfit Crediton, a club he represented as a junior. Over recent weeks Ross was unsure that he had made the right decision so early in his own playing career.

Ross has enjoyed an illustrious career as Captain at Exmouth, yet this season had clearly taken its toll on the hard working skipper. I believe he took the disappointment of this season very much to heart, when he told us of his decision to leave we were naturally very disappointed particularly as we believe he has many more years in National League rugby. I believe over the next few weeks Ross realised how well thought of he was from his fellow players and supporters at the Club and with our recent upturn in form how much he enjoyed being a part of the team"

Wright added that "Ross did not take the decision lightly to delay his step into coaching, it was simply too soon, since relegation became a reality for Exmouth there has been a real buzz about next season and I believe Ross will play a big part in the Cockles plans supporting new 1st XV skipper Dave Bargent and Club Captain Mark Wathes."
