Exmouth RFC continue to recruit at a pace since their promotion to National Two with the recent addition of Exeter College, Okehampton and Devon under 18's centre Chris Swash for the 13/14 season.
Swash has accepted a place on an Exercise and Sports Science Degree at Exeter University starting in September and is certainly no stranger to many of the Exmouth squad.
Exmouth Head Coach Jon Hill comments:
"Chris has been a standout 1st xv performer for the college over the last two years, often captaining the side, and is renowned for his hard hitting and ball carrying ability. He was considered very unlucky to not have been selected for the South West squad this last year, and he attended a number of Exeter Chiefs Academy sessions prior to their academy fixtures. Chris has just finalised his University options and he aims to juggle Exeter University and National League rugby, where we will work closely with Keith Fleming as to his game management to ensure that we do what is best for his continued development within the game.
"Chris has already played a number of friendly fixtures for Exmouth, and was part of the 1st team squad that beat the Taunton Titans in a friendly game at the end of January. Centre is an area where we need to recruit due to the fact that we have played the whole season with a centre light, and are losing Adam Higgins, who is off to Canada. In addition to this, we have played Paul Morgan and Tom Kill at 13 for the vast majority of the season and they are both primarily wingers. Chris knows how we play, and has played with a number of our squad already and is hugely motivated to achieve highly in the game'".
