Exmouth 2s v Crediton 2nd Team

By Ian Harris

Youngsters In Fine Form.

Exmouth 2’s made the short journey to Crediton, with a side bolstered by young players from current and recent Colts, including a senior debut for Charlie Mears. Against a more grizzled outfit The Cockles took the honors with a 45-7 win.

The lads looked sharp and notably some great performances from all, secured 7 tries throughout the afternoon. Will Hockin, Sam Fulthorpe, Alex Goldman (pic) and Will Bright all crossed the try line with Harry Ottaway adding two conversions, before Crediton got their only converted score of the afternoon, 24-7. The next period just ramped up the pressure on the hosts with further brace of tries from Ethan Langson Justice and one for Jake Inglis. Harry Ottaway added 3 conversions to complete the final score line 45-7.

The Cockles now sit on even points with Okehampton at the Top of Devon Merit Table 1. The West Devon outfit has a game in hand and better points difference however the young squad will keep working to end their season on a high, away to Cullompton next week.
