Exmouth RFC 1st xv have been Shortlisted for the National Team of the Year Award and representatives will be up at Twickenham on Thursday 1st Sept

Following the most successful season in the clubs 143 year history, The Exmouth RFC 1st xv have been Shortlisted for Rugby Team of the Year (male) at the National Rugby Awards.

A Championship winning season, a Devon Senior County Cup win, an unbeaten home record all season, and 64 from 65 points taken on offer at home throughout the season were all key credentials of the 15/16 season that saw the Cockles promoted back to National Two.

In addition to this, 15 players represented Devon County in their County Championship programme, to signify excellent progress for the club.

The National Rugby Awards are designed to honour the achievements of all the thousands rugby clubs across the country. The awards will acknowledge their dedication and commitment to rugby.The awards will give the opportunity for clubs at all levels to enter and gain recognition for their contribution to the game.

There is no other event that brings together all the clubs and players from all the leagues in England, providing a great opportunity for sponsors to gain exposure to those at the very heart of English rugby.The 2016 Awards ceremony will be held at Twickenham “The Home of English Rugby” and will be attended by rugby celebrities as well as members of England Rugby teams and Premiership players.

The event has been set up by Zeus Events and The Rugby Paper, the No.1 selling publication for the sport. England player Chris Robshaw is the event ambassador.This is a fantastic opportunity for all rugby clubs and business across the country to get involved in this fantastic night.
