Exmouth RFC v Plymouth Albion Tuesday 9th August, 7pm kick off Imperial Ground, Exmouth Sponsored by Fever, Boutique & Kukui

Exmouth RFC Coaches Jon Hill and Stuart Lowe are expecting to see the vast majority of the senior squad in action on Tuesday when the Cockles entertain Plymouth Albion, at Home, 7pm ko in a game being sponsored by Fever, Boutique and Kukui, Exmouth's Premier nightclub.

Hill has opted for almost separate teams to play each half with the aim of building into game time slowly and allowing an opportunity for up to 32 players to get game time against their higher league opponents.

Hill comments:

"In all honesty his game is a little early for us as we started training a week later than normal due to County Rugby Commitments and this game is a week earlier than we would normally play our first game. That said, the opportunity to play against higher level opposition is a great test for us and we hope to welcome a good crowd to the Imperial Ground.

"We have split up the squads and will use the pre season programme to look at a few combinations. With another game this coming Friday at home to Launceston, we will limit each player to 40 mins approx. It will be interesting to see how The likes of new signing Sam Thomas combines in the back row with James Harris and Dave Bargent welcome winger Jack Downie back to the club following a spell at Withycombe.

"New signings Trae Gosling (Brixham) Mike Richards (Withycombe) and Ben Wonnacott (Crediton) help form an experienced back five in the second half and join high profile new signing Tom Bedford (Plymouth Albion) as Exmouth prepare for the forthcoming National Two season."

Plymouth are set to include a host of new signings and also include a number of Exeter Chiefs Dual registration players in their squad including Joe Simmons, Harrison Cully, Ed Holmes, Billy Keast and former Cockle Will Norton. Other former Cockles included in the Albion squad include Dan Powell and Dan Pullinger.
