Jon Hill comments following 21-15 victory over Brixham

"Delighted to have won another Devon derby and to continue our unbeaten home record this season. I felt that we thoroughly deserved our victory and I was particularly disappointed that we were not awarded a penalty try just before half time when we shoved Brixham backwards from a 5m scrum. For me, this was a key incident in the game when all of the momentum and dominance was with us, and would have led to a 21-3 half time lead which would have been very hard for Brixham to have come back from, especially considering the conditions.

"Brixham are a quality side and with that in mind our scrum performance was extremely pleasing. Their decision to kick a lot of ball to our back three may well have backfired with the counter attacking abilities of Ollie Rice and Matt Ryan and an assured display at the back from Richard Cadywould. We made good inroads from kick receipts and thrived off broken field play.

"Credit to Brixham , who came out at a million miles an hour in the second half and asked us a lot of questions, clawing their way back into the game. Our defence was resolute for large parts and is indicative of the good team spirit and work ethic that we have created.

"As a club, we wish Kier Murphy a speedy recovery from what looked like a nasty injury in the second half. "
