A 12-9 half time score with all to play for , unfortunately our errors were punished in the second half and the rest is history. Harry Ottaway kicked three first half penalties , but we will rue a couple of good opportunities missed.

In the second half, 17-9 down , camped in the Cleve 22m we made a line break and gave a penalty away 1 metre from their try line. One minute later they are under our sticks with a breakaway try and the all of sudden we are staring down the barrel and the game is gone .

It was certainly a frustrating afternoon, with a high work rate demonstrated by the lads , but a little attention to detail lacking. Cleve were very good value , being clinical with the opportunities that they created and starting both halves at a million miles an hour.

I believe we had more territory and possession , and the score line doesn't reflect the balance of the game. Well done to Cleve , lively and efficient with the ball, gritty and hard working in Defence.

What I do know for sure is that we are in a dog fight , and must up the accuracy in our game next week against Camborne.

Man of the match was Dave Bargent who was superb throughout. Current Colt Harry Ottaway built upon last weeks performance at ten and put us into good positions to attack from. He is certainly one for the future.

The twos went down narrowly with a bonus point away at Drybrook. With 8 colts in the side, and a veteran on the bench, there were perhaps too many gaps to plug, following a high number of absentees at 1st and 2nd team level. For those that stepped up, we thank you , and it was great that we could compete with such a young side.

The Nomads stepped up their promotion bid with a comprehensive 54-0 victory over Bideford 2nd xv. Tinners' men go from strength to strength with a strict 'no training' policy. The final four weeks of the season are huge for the club, we hope you will all get behind us.
