A tight 16-15 victory over Devon Rivals Brixham

A try , conversion and late penalty was enough to see off a tenacious and physical Brixham side who led for large parts of today's game.

Head Coach Jon Hill comments :

"A victory by any margin and by any which way in a Devon Derby game is certainly something to be happy about , regardless of the performance level.

"Whilst highly frustrated by some key areas of our game and bewildered by how our scrum dominance wasn't rewarded , we will take the win, take stock of where we are and improve through hard work and honesty.

"It was nice to see us grind out a win in tough conditions against a good side. Brixham were very direct and highly physical and are a good side. They have been on the wrong end of some fine margins.

"We did not play very well today and made errors at crucial times. Our discipline was poor and our error rate was high. Our scrum was excellent , our line out poor . Our kick game excellent, out kick chase poor , we never really backed things up which is frustrating.

"Losing Dave Bargent after 4 minutes and Tom Brown after 8 didn't help our cause , and we will need to regroup ahead of a massive challenge next week"

Man of the Match was Tom Whelan , who kicked well throughout and led our attack game well.
