1st xv v Canterbury (home) sponsored by St Wilfrids School (Exeter) kicks off at 2.30pm

Exmouth entertain Canterbury this weekend (2.30pm kick off) looking to restore some pride in the jersey after last weeks mauling in the Capital. This Saturday looks set to be a busy weekend at the club with ladies day, in a game sponsored by St Wilfrids School, (Exeter) and with the 2nd xv entertaining Bideford in the Devon Table.

It is possible that there could be up to ten changes to the starting line up with renewed availability of players, and promotions for those who have been training and playing well off the bench and in the 2nd xv. Front Rowers Ollie Dawe, Aiden Taylor and Issac Dalton could form a brand new front row this weekend, with Dawe having completed the Grand Slam with England Under 20's two weeks ago. Colts Captain Dan Armstrong will be looking for inclusion in the squad, and could be partnered, or joined in the back five by John Kelly who also made a positive impact off the bench last weekend. In the back line, there could be potential returns for Influential centre Mark Wathes, (unavailable last weekend), and Alex Goldman, another to shine in difficult circumstances last weekend.

Harvey Ridgeway, benefiting from 80 mins in last weeks 50-33 victory for the 2nd xv, could also earn a recall to the starting line up which is likely to see Ollie Rice revert to his favoured position at full back in place of Richard Cadywould. Milo Reynolds is also available for selection this weekend having served time recovering from a head injury sustained against Cinderford three weeks ago.

Club Captain Jack Fahy comments:

"It is important to put last week behind us, and the only way we can do that is by putting in a massive shift this Saturday. Very few people can hold their hand in the air and say I deserve to be picked this Saturday on the back of last weekend. We need to restore some pride and ensure we are all working together towards a common goal. This has been a difficult season, and at times we have not all worked hard enough for each other. It is often said that you can see the amount of team spirit in a side by the way you defend and show pride in your try line. It is important for us to come off the pitch on Saturday and be able to look each other in the eye and know that as a team, we have done everything possible for each other. "

This Saturday's game is being sponsored by St Wilfrids School (Exeter) who we look forward to hosting , as well as all of the Ladies who will be attending Ladies Day. Ross Bovingdon, of St Wilfrids will be selecting and presenting this Saturday's man of the match award.
