Head Coach Jon Hill previews this Saturday's home Devon Derby against Barnstaple, 2.30pm kick off. The game is being sponsored by Jewsons.

"We expect to welcome back influential former Captain Dave Bargent as well as last years County scrum half Matt Ryan who have both been missing recently due to work commitments. This is another big boost for us and adds to the fact that we were able to bring back eight players last week who had also been missing in recent weeks. This of course, presents some selection headaches, which is not something that we have experienced too much of this season to date with limited options at times.

"We had really hoped for a positive impact last week, and got just that, feeling a little disappointed not to have taken all four points on offer against Redingensians. It was however, a big step in the right direction and we must now look to build on the excellent performances and use that as a benchmark. Consistency in performance will be key to us improving our league position in the coming weeks and months and there would be no better time than this Saturday to take another step forward against an impressive Barnstaple outfit in a big Devon derby.

"Games against Barnstaple are always tight affairs , and many of course will remember the last league game of last season where the National Three Championship Race went right down to the wire. This of course is in have past , but it is fitting that our captain and try scorer that day, Dave Bargent , returns to the squad having led it so admirably and impressively last time out. Barnstaple have certainly recruited well and have added a number of experienced players to their squad in Ben Hilton, Jake Murphy and Robbie Dugard. This will be an entertaining game played by two sides who play an attacking brand of rugby and have a lot of respect for each other. "

Exmouth RFC v Barnstaple RFC kicks off at 2.30pm and is being sponsored by Jewsons.
