Six Feet Four Inch Back Five Forward Sam Richardson signs for the 17/18 season and is being sponsored by Ideal cleaners.

Experienced Army back five forward, Sam Richardson (29 years old) has put pen to paper with Exmouth RFC for the season ahead and is a significant boost to the Cockles.

Richardson has played previously for Devon, Taunton, Henley and more recently Sidmouth, and renews acquaintances with new signing and player attack coach Tom Whelan, who he played with last season.

Richardson is a local boy from Budleigh Salterton, and has recently bought a house in Exeter, he will combine his rugby with his Army duties, where he has been serving for the past few years. At 6 feet 4 inch, and 105kg’s Sam is sure to bring a level of physicality to the pack in what is a demanding league.

He is being sponsored by Ideal Cleaners, a family based Dry Cleaning and Laundry Business with its heart in the local community, and who are keen sponsors of local sport www.idealcleaners.co.uk

Exmouth RFC Head Coach Jon Hill comments:
“Sam is a big signing for us in many ways and we look forward to seeing him in action this coming season. We hope he will bring a physical edge to our game and are sure he will be a popular addition to an already competitive squad. He has played rugby at a high standard in the National Leagues and also with the British Army and we are looking for him to add a bit of experience to those around him. Tom Whelan speaks very highly of him, and I am very well aware of him from his time at Taunton, and with Devon in previous years. We are indebted to the sponsorship from Ideal Cleaners, and are looking forward to working with them and with Sam this coming season and beyond”.
