A good run out in South Devon.

On the road to Paignton 2nd XV, a mixed Cockles team romped away scoring 11 tries, with 7 conversions from the boot of Harry Ottaway for a personal 14 point haul.
The contest was effectively over at half time with Exmouth leading 33-3. Tries from James Goss, Connor Smithers, Ethan Langson Justice, James Willmott and Jack Greenaway with 4 conversions, countered by a solitary penalty form the hosts.

The second half went pretty much the same way with another 36 point haul from the barnstorming Cockles. Harvey Ridgeway bagged the first of his brace, James Willmott dotted down his second. Paignton to their credit did manage to score a converted try themselves in-between. Back Row Matt Seager also grabbed a couple of tries before Owain Brinkworth added to the tally with his try. Ridgeway scored his second with Ottaway knocking over the conversion to bring the final score to 69-10. Although The Cockles were too strong for their rivals the game can be marked by a strong performance from evergreen Paul Flower (pic. on the hoof) at prop who worked hard with the rest of the forwards to get field position for younger backs to do the damage. This was also a great opportunity to develop our current Colts to senior rugby. The win keeps up the challenge to top grab spot in the Devon Merit Table.

Thank you to Paignton for your hospitality.
